Areas Of Specialization

Anxiety

Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek therapy, and one of the most misunderstood. It often shows up as avoidance, physical tension, or constant second-guessing rather than just nervousness.

Learn More

Depression

Depression is more than sadness. It can feel like numbness, exhaustion, or a quiet disconnection from things that used to matter. It's treatable, and you don't have to figure out why on your own.

Learn More

Relationship Problems

Most relationship difficulties come back to the same core issues: communication, unspoken expectations, and old patterns that keep repeating. Therapy can help you understand what's getting in the way.

Learn More

Anger

Anger is a normal emotion, but when it starts affecting your relationships, your work, or your sense of self, it's worth looking at more closely. Therapy helps identify what's underneath it and how to respond differently.

Learn More

Work and Career Problems

Stress, burnout, conflict with colleagues, and uncertainty about direction are some of the most common concerns adults bring to therapy. When work starts affecting the rest of your life, it's worth taking seriously.

Learn More

School Refusal

School refusal is rarely about laziness. It's usually tied to anxiety, social difficulties, or something going on beneath the surface that hasn't been named yet. We help families understand what's driving it.

Learn More

Behavior Issues/Parent-Child Conflict

When children and parents are stuck in conflict, it wears on everyone. We help families understand the patterns behind difficult behavior and build a stronger foundation for working through it.

Learn More

Disorganization and Planning Problems

Chronic disorganization and difficulty planning are often signs of an underlying issue rather than a character flaw. We help people understand what's getting in the way and build practical strategies that actually stick.

Learn More

ADHD

ADHD affects focus, impulse control, and the ability to follow through, but it looks different in every person. Accurate assessment and the right support can make a meaningful difference in daily life.

Learn More

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma changes the way your brain and body respond to the world, often in ways that are hard to explain. We provide evidence-based treatment for trauma at every stage of the healing process.

Learn More

Eating Disorders

Eating disorders are among the most misunderstood mental health conditions, and they rarely have much to do with food. They often reflect deeper patterns around control, self-worth, and emotional pain that take time and skilled support to work through.

Dr. Bret Boatwright

Director of Assessment

Experience & Specialization

Living life as a neurodivergent individual can be frustrating and even overwhelming for so many reasons. You might feel out of step with the world around you, that other people don’t understand the world like you do. Why don’t people just say what they mean? Why can’t people respect your process just because it’s different? Why can’t you feel more at peace with your body, mind, and senses? Our minds are vibrant tapestries, full of color and complexity, and yet, often, we find ourselves wrestling with a world not designed for our unique patterns. Even after years of learning to think and act like others, you might still find yourself feeling out of place or like you’re not able to be your truest self around others. It can be exhausting putting on a mask all the time! The constant need to adapt, the feeling of being misunderstood, and the search for a space where you can be your true self is a path you need not walk alone.

My journey as an ADHD professional coupled with my experience working with a spectrum of neurodivergent individuals allows my practice to offer a safe haven for exploration and growth. I also offer testing and assessment for those who have gone undiagnosed, and my unique perspective as both a professional and member of the community equips me to accurately diagnose even the most masked of neurodivergent individuals. I understand the nuances of neurodivergence and am committed to helping you explore and celebrate your unique mind. If you've been seeking a space where you are not just seen, but truly understood, then let this be your invitation. If you seek guidance from someone who not only empathizes but also embodies these experiences, let's connect. Together, we can chart a path towards embracing and nurturing your neurodivergent identity. Let's take that step together.

Treatment

Together, we can explore your individual experiences as well as your unique way of interacting with the world, and you can know that as a member of this community I will understand your experiences where others have failed to. In our sessions, we will explore your past to better understand how your early experiences have shaped you, and by exploring these experiences we can help you unravel the knots difficult experiences might have left you with. I use a Psychodynamic approach which will help process and overcome common struggles surrounding Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), socializing, and even anxiety/depression; I also use mindfulness/somatic approaches to help cope with difficulties surrounding over/understimulation, sensory difficulties, and intense emotions. This process is not about changing who you are but rather overcoming your weaknesses and harnessing your unique strengths - your genuineness, directness, creativity, hyperfixations, passion, sense of justice, empathy, and adaptability. Beyond traditional approaches, my firsthand experience of neurodivergence informs our sessions alongside my professional expertise, ensuring a space where your unique mind is deeply understood and valued. Ready to embrace your neurodivergent identity? Let’s embark on this transformative path together.
